“La Estrella de Tarifa" is located in the heart of the city's old town, San Rosendo Street number 2, only 20 meters off “La Calzada”, the main street of Tarifa, full of shops, bars and restaurants.

Just a 1 minute walk from our establishment, you have the Church of San Mateo, the main church of Tarifa, a gothic structure built on the remains of an ancient mosque that preserves baroque paintings and sculptures of great cultural interest.

Within this cultural route and also walking distance to the Port and only 2 minutes away, is the Castle of Guzman el Bueno or also known as the Castle of Tarifa, its construction dates back to the 902 and it is a medieval fortress of the Caliphate era declared of Cultural Interest, is located on a ledge high within the city, overlooking the sea.

Below the castle , you will find the Port of Tarifa, with fishing and commercial activity, also, the Ferry that unites the peninsula with Morocco is located in this same port (Tangier, Chaouen and Asilah, as well as the gateway to the Sahara are a few 35 minutes by ferry). You can also take the boats to watch humpback whales and dolphins through the Strait.

And if you are looking for our famous white sand beaches, only a 6 minute walk from our establishment you can find Playa Chica located in the Mediterranean, and the dunes on the Atlantic, with 8 kilometers of wide sandy beach, where the kite surfers and other water sports enthusiasts live together in perfect harmony with the swimmers or those who just want to enjoy a wonderful walk and the stunning sunsets of the South.

Between these 2 beaches, lies the island of the pigeons, in 1808 was built the road that connects the island with Tarifa and is the most southern point of Europe that separates the Mediterranean sea of the Atlantic.


Our location is also strategic for shopping, parallel to our street is the street of Nuestra Señora de la Luz, going up you will attain the Puerta de Jerez, one of the most emblematic monuments of the city and joins the historic old town with the Batalla del Salado Street, the shopping and surfer street par excellence, in both streets, you will find unique shops to buy clothing and unique accessories, hard to find in other places, both fashionable and specialized clothing for kite and windsurfing.

If you would like to try the rich gastronomy that Tarifa can offer, famous for its bluefin tuna and known for the quality of their meats, around “La Estrella de Tarifa” are the best tapas bars, restaurants, cafes and pastry shops, all of them accessible on foot and only a few meters away.

If you prefer the evening activities Tarifa has great live music and the terraces, the historic old town is the epicenter of all these activities, the ideal place to take the first after-dinner drink or meet interesting people.
